Jesus's Mercy

Recently, I've been doing a Bible plan on the YouVersion Bible App called Reset My ______. It goes through the book of Luke, and leads you through a 30-day study of living a reset life. This most recent part I have read was about Luke chapter 23. While reading this chapter, I realized how much my God did on this Earth and the pain he endured. I read the scripture and a few verses stuck out to me that never normally stuck out to me before.

Such as the multiple verses that include Pilate mentioning that he found no fault in Jesus.

"Then said Pilate to the chief priests and to the people, I find no fault in this man." Luke 23:4

Jesus was perfect! He didn't do any sin, but he took upon himself the world's sin and took the death so I didn't have to! He took the fall so we all didn't have too, and we now have salvation through him! Help us Jesus that we can realize the gravity of your love and mercy for us!

Another thing that stood out to me was the verses about Barnabas, and also the verses about the people crying out for them to crucify him.

"Then said Pilate to the chief priests and to the people, I find no fault in this man. And they cried out all at once, saying, Away with this man, and release unto us Barabbas: (Who for a certain sedition made in the city, and for murder, was cast into prison.) But they cried, saying, Crucify him, crucify him. And he said unto them the third time, Why, what evil hath he done? I have found no cause of death in him: I will therefore chastise him, and let him go. And Pilate gave sentence that it should be as they required. And he released unto them him that for sedition and murder was cast into prison, whom they had desired; but he delivered Jesus to their will." Luke 23:4,18-19,21-22,24-25

When I was reading this, I thought that God's OWN PEOPLE CHOSE HIM OVER A THIEF! Lord help us! We need to respect our Lord! He died for us, and he layed down his life for us! How dare we take his grace forgranted! Lord, help us all to show our Lord love and praise! He has done so much for us, why can't we just see this and realize we need him! Help our broken world, Jesus, that we can see your love and mercy!

The last verse I wanted to touch on is this verse right here. "Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots." Luke 23:34

This verse made me think THE MOST. It made me recall that this man, Jesus, came to Earth to be humbled and have no home nor place to sleep! He came to be rejected of his people and beaten. He came to die for the people who hated him most. And he prayed for them to forgive him! How merciful and loving! He asked the Father to forgive them,no matter the suffering He went through because of them and because of US! Don't take his grace forgranted! Accept salvation and be made whole in his love today!
