My Salvation Story

I've been reading this amazing devotional called The Fire Within on the Bible app. If you do not have the Bible app or have this app and have not read the devotional, I highly recommend you do both. One of the devotions talked about how one's story can be powerful through God. I asked God to bless this story that I will tell about me. I hope it can bless you all.

I grew up in church. I have always been a church kid. Even though I went to church, I never was a believer. I was never serious. At times, I was, but then I wasn't. I eventually got into God and it was amazing. Until I was faced with many major battles. I struggled with fitting in and being a Christ follower. I thought I lived for Jesus, but I really was just a sinner with a disguise. There was a person that came into my life that corrupted me. I was immersed into bad things. I hung out with bad people that did bad things, and I did some of those bad things. I forsook my true, Christian friends that I now have today. I eventually made it back to God. It was long and hard, but I made it back.

I recently have been struggling with staying up late at night and sexual desires. I don't want to go into details. I've been ashamed of my past, the person who I used to be. Sometimes, that person rises up in me sometimes. I never liked that me. Thankfully, God is merciful and loving. He chose to die for me and redeem me. He had a plan for me. He brought me all this way and he didn't let go of me. I praise him because he is wonderful and amazing. Oh, how I could talk and tell of what God has done for me. I could've been fatally injured many times. But who was there? God!

He will never fail. This may sound like baloney to some people, but it is true. If you are willing to follow him, life will be easier. It won't be a cakewalk, but let me tell you, it will go a whole lot smoother. So, why wait? If he had a plan for me, he surely has a plan for you. I can hear him calling, just saying "Come home, son. I miss you." You are of value to your creator. If you have run away or if you do not know Jesus, come to him today. Don't wait. Now is the day of salvation.
