Today was CSU or Christian Student Union and we learned an amazing lesson today. We learned about labels. We learned that the labels of this world do not define us, but GOD defines us! Galatians 2:20 says, "I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me." You see, our old self died with Christ. When we ask for forgiveness from our sins, our old, sinful self dies with Christ on the cross. It is gone. Sure, you may have had severe anger before you became saved, but that label doesn't define you anymore. You are not the geek that people call you. You are a child of God. Never ever lose sight of that. Even when life is on the edge, remember that YOU are a child of God. I want to thank Klohi Turner for presenting this beautiful lesson at CSU. Lastly, I am just gonna put in a few song lyrics from a song called "No Longer Slaves"
"No Longer Slaves"
You unravel me with a melody You surround me with a song Of deliverance from my enemies 'Til all my fears are gone
I'm no longer a slave to fear I am a child of God From my mother's womb You have chosen me Love has called my name I've been born again Into your family Your blood flows through my veins I'm no longer a slave to fear I am a child of God I am surrounded By the arms of the father I am surrounded By songs of deliverance We've been liberated From our bondage We're the sons and the daughters Let us sing our freedom You split the sea So I could walk right through it My fears were drowned in perfect love You rescued me And I could stand and sing I am a child of God... Yes, I am I am a child of God Full of faith I'm no longer a slave to fear I am a child of God
1 John 3:1 King James Version (KJV)
Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.
